Before

The Lodge

In 2008 in my capacity as Senior Design Consultant with Baron Design in Cambridge, I worked with my client to transform a bungalow located in Solihull in Birmingham into executive accommodation.

The building, which had formerly been used by the Lloyds TSB Training Centre as a storage facility, offered approximately 200m² of space, but required extensive refurbishment.

Amongst work undertaken was the stripping-out of the building to get to a stage where services could be added and the installation of executive en-suite facilities, power and data supplies. Furthermore, with each bedroom and en-suite a different size and layout, I designed bespoke bedroom furniture to ensure we maximized the space.

The Lodge was the inaugural element of a long-term programme of fit-out and refurbishment works for the centre. As such it was essential that the project was brought in on time, on budget and to the highest quality, as it set the standard for on-going refurbishment works within the main training centre itself.
